Alexandra Liliana Queen

Our baby girl arrived at 3:45 AM on June 6 weighing in at 9 pounds, 6 oz and 21.5 inches long. We named her Alexandra Liliana, but are still deciding what her nicname will be. Our day started by checking into the hospital at 7:00 in the morning. Andrea started to be induced around 8:00 AM and then, we waited, and waited and waited. The day went by pretty uneventfully- we waited anxiously for the next check to see how much progress had been made but it was slow. Mommy and Daddy were even able to get in just a few hours nap here and there so that they would be ready for the big arrival. At around 11:00, we figured that she wasn't going to be born on June 5th like we planned, but at that point, everyone was exhausted and just wanted the baby to come. Finally, at 2:30AM, after being at the hospital all day, with no end in sight, or so they thought, Noni, Nonnu, Gamma, Grandpa and Auntie Dana decided to go home for a few hours to get some sleep and to let Mommy and Daddy sleep. Of course, they were only home about 20 minutes when Chris called them to get back to the hospital because Drea was ready to push. They got there just in time to see little Alexandra come into the world. It was a beautiful moment as the doctor held up the 9 pound 6 ounce baby and she just gave a little cry. She had low blood sugar and had to take a bottle of formula right after being born to get it up, but now she is doing well. Her first day at least, she was pretty mellow- she ate well, slept a lot and didn't do too much crying. Drea did an awesome job and Mommy and the baby are doing well, but a little exhausted after almost a 22 hour day. Everyone went home around 5:30 AM. It was a wonderful day and we are very thankful for a beautiful, healthy baby girl!
Here are a few more pictures of that day and the long day waiting for our baby to arrive.
